1 lb chicken breasts
2 8-oz pkgs cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded Swiss
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
2 Tbsp fresh chopped garlic
2 tsp chives
1/2 cup green onions

4 cans Refrigerated crescent roll dough

Directions:

  1. Cook chicken and shred into fine chunks. Add minced garlic to cooking chicken and cook until garlic is browned/reduced.

I recommend buying at least 4 cans of the large flaky rolls as the mixture goes a long way.

Mini Fall Pumpkin Pie Croissants

Ingredients:
2 tubes of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls.
4 oz. (1/2 block) of softened cream cheese
1 cup of canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 – 2 T pumpkin pie spice (adjust to taste)
3 – 4 T sugar (granulated or powdered; adjust to taste if you want the filling sweeter)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Roll each crescent roll out and cut lengthwise in 2.
This recipe will make 32 mini croissants.
  3. Beat the remaining 4 ingredients together until fluffy and creamy.
  4. Spread about one teaspoon of filling over each triangle of dough, and roll up into the infamous crescent shape.
  5. Mix together 4 T sugar and 1 T pumpkin pie spice and *roll each pumpkin pie croissant in it!
  6. Bake at 375* for about 13-15 minutes (this time is for on a baking stone) – you want them to be lightly browned and the dough baked through, so be sure to check at regular intervals.

*One reviewer suggested lightly brushing the outside of the crescent roll before rolling into the sugar and spice mixture, so that it will adhere to the crescents better before baking.

Decadent Cheese Danish

Ingredients:
2 cans Pillsbury butter crescent rolls
2 (8oz) packages cream cheese (softened)

1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup butter (melted)
Cinnamon and sugar mixture (I used about 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tbs cinnamon)

Directions:

  1. Unroll and spread 1 can crescent rolls on bottom of an ungreased pan.
  2. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Spread mixture over crescent rolls.
  4. Unroll and spread remaining crescent rolls over mixture.
  5. Spread melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

We found this recipe and it had no name... I only know it should be illegal!!!

Easy Cheese Danish

EASY CHEESE DANISH

Ingredients:
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 8oz package of cream cheese at room temp.
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
3/4 tsp vanilla
1 tsp sour cream

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Place a sheet of parchment paper on cookie sheet or baking pan.
  2. Open the crescent rolls carefully so as not to tear the dough. Do not unroll...you will need to leave it in it's cylindrical shape. Slice the dough into pieces about 1/4 inch thick (as though you're slicing cookie dough). Place the slices on a cookie sheet. Now press the center in to make an indentation for the cream cheese filling.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese, regular sugar, lemon juice, vanilla and sour cream. Add a dollop of the mixture to the indentation you made in each circle of dough. I find that about a tbsp works well, but you can use as little or as much as you like.
  4. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes. While the danish are baking, you can make a quick royal icing to drizzle over the tops. Take the danish out of the oven and allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes before icing.

Drizzle for top:
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1 tbsp milk
1 tbsp softened butter

Mix together the confectioner's sugar, milk and butter in a small bowl. Use a spoon to drizzle it over the tops of the danish, or you can put it into a small zip-top bag and snip of the corner for an easy "piping bag."

Love cheese danish...and especially when you can make them at home and they are fresh and warm just out of the oven!

Chicken Crescent Rolls

FB Source: Sheyrl Colclough

Ingredients:
2 boneless skinless chicken breast
2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls
26 oz can cream of chicken soup
1 cup cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Boil chicken breast, then shred.
  2. Roll out each individual crescent. Place about a Tbsp of shredded chicken in center and roll it up.
  3. Bake on 350 for about 10-15 minutes until just starting to turn golden.
  4. Pour soup mixture over the top bake an additional 10 min.
  5. Top with cheddar cheese and bake for 10 more minutes.
Stacie says: "2 chicken breasts shredded make for VERY full crescent rolls. I use 23 oz (pre-cook weight) of chicken, cooked and shredded, and STILL have enough for another batch, so we'll be making this again this week. I also used half the soup, and mixed in equal amounts of milk with it. I saved the rest for the next batch I make this week."

1 Stick Butter~ melted
1 1/2 C. Sugar

Pinch end's to seal. After all the crescent's have been filled and rolled, place them in a baking dish seam side down. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over top on the rolls. Next you will pour the can of soda over the top. Place into the oven to bake for 38-45 minutes. I recommend serving them right out of the oven, along side a big scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream.

Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

2 cans crescent rolls. I used Pillsbury 8 count cans in original flava. 8)
2 apples. (green).
2 sticks butter. I don't skimp, the recipe says you can use margarine, but what's the point anyway?
2 cups sugar.
2 tsp. cinnamon.
1 can Mountain Dew.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Core and slice apples (I removed the skins as well). Wrap each in a crescent triangle. I basically just tried my best to get every inch of the apple covered by the dough. Line up in a 9x13 inch pan. Melt butter, cinnamon, and sugar together. I just nuked the butter and then stirred in the sugar and cinnamon until it had a pretty smooth, pourable consistency. Pour the Dew around the perimeter of the pan. Bake 45 minutes. Eat warm with a scoop, or 3, of vanilla ice cream.
